The intro call: what to expect

A short call with your coach after your survey. What they have read, what they ask, what they tell you, and what happens next.

Updated Sep 26 · 1 minute read

The intro call is step two. It happens after your survey and before you see any matches, and it's the first time you and your coach talk.

Before the call

Your coach reads your survey. They look at what you want from ownership, your background, your budget and your timeline, and they note what the answers did not cover.

On the call

Expect three things.

  1. Questions. Where the survey gave a range, your coach asks for the real figure. Where you said "some" experience, they ask what kind. Where you picked five industries, they ask which one you would choose if you could only pick one.

  2. A plain answer. Your coach tells you whether a franchise makes sense for your situation right now. Sometimes the answer is "yes, and here is the kind of brand to look at". Sometimes it's "wait a year and build the capital". You will hear it either way.

  3. What happens next. If you are ready, your coach curates your matches after the call and publishes them to your Match Hub, usually within a few days.

What the call is not

It is not a pitch. Your coach does not represent a brand on this call, and there is nothing to buy. A rushed intro call helps nobody.

Booking it

Book from your dashboard after the survey. Pick a time in your own timezone; the confirmation email carries a calendar file and the link for the call. You can reschedule from the same place.

If you are not sure you want the call

Take it anyway. Twenty minutes with someone who has watched many buyers go through this is worth more than another week of reading brand websites.
